Physics of the Solid State
Physics of the Solid State is a journal that publishes the up-to-date results obtained in various fields of solid state physics, such as solid state acoustics, solid state optics, phase transitions, electronic and vibrational spectroscopy, ferroelectricity, magnetism, superconductivity and phase transitions. The Journal also presents review articles devoted to the most important problems of solid state physics.
The Journal was founded in 1959.

We are pleased to announce that on February 7, 2023, the ISSN International Centre, coordinator of the National Centres under UNESCO support, transferred the ISSNs of the English translations of all five Ioffe journals (Technical Physics, Technical Physics Letters, Physics of the Solid State, Semiconductors, Optics and Spectroscopy) from USA to Russia. Ensuring correct location of the legitimate publisher in the ISSN record is essential for journal indexing in all databases. We are confident that Web of Science and Scopus will reflect these changes in the very near future.
